Gavin Parsons

Gavin is the Managing Director of the firm and holds a Diploma of Laws (LPAB) and a Diploma of Legal Practice.


Immediately prior to opening his own law firm in April 2014, Gavin refined his legal skills as a Senior Associate at a medium-sized law firm based in the Sydney CBD.  During these years Gavin demonstrated his unique abilities and passion for the law whilst acting for a wide range of clientele providing quality legal advice in a diverse range of legal fields.


Prior to commencing private practice in 2009, Gavin had a successful career with various NSW State Government agencies over a period of nine years. Gavin spent several years at the Victims Compensation Tribunal and the Office of Fair Trading and also served as Manager of the Administrative Decisions Tribunal Registry. He has therefore been practicing in and around the law for 17 years.


Commercial Litigation - acting for individuals and businesses in commercial matters including trade practices, debt recovery, corporate law and commercial contracts


Commercial and Business Law - drafting and/or negotiating a broad range of contracts, agreements and legal documents for all sizes of companies and businesses.  Advising clients on a wide range of legal issues including corporations law, trade practices, competition and consumer laws and both state and federal legislative requirements

Employment law - acting for employers and employees. Preparing, updating and implementing workplace policies, assisting with the performance of workplace investigations to minimise liability and manage risks, dispute resolution; and litigation including appearing in the Fair Work Commission, Federal Court of Australia and the Federal Circuit Court of Australia


Bankruptcy and Insolvency - acting for and advising individuals and companies facing bankruptcy or insolvency. Acting for and advising Administrators and Liquidators regarding the administration or liquidation of small and medium companies including strategy, recovery, settlement, the realisation of assets and other bankruptcy and insolvency issues


Estate and Succession Planning - advising clients, preparing and drafting Wills, Powers of Attorney and Guardianship instruments


Intellectual Property - advising and acting for companies and individuals in relation to trade marks, passing off, copyright, business reputations and the enforcement of intellectual property rights.


Administrative Law - advising clients, preparing applications, acting for individuals and businesses and appearing in various government tribunals including Victims Compensation Tribunal, Consumer Trader and Tenancy Tribunal and Administrative Decisions Tribunal which as of January 2014 were all incorporated into the new NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal.





Dan Rappoport

Dan joined the practice in July 2016 as an accomplished and experienced solicitor. He was admitted in 2010 and went on to complete a Masters in Commercial Law in 2013 with a distinction average and subsequently became a member of the International Golden Key Honour Society.


Prior to working at Gavin Parsons and Associates, Dan headed his own firm Lambeth Lloyd and Associates. He has also been a consultant and employed at mid-tier and boutique firms such as Sparke Helmore Lawyers and Teddington Legal, as well as working within government agencies such as the Australian Financial Security Authority.


Dan's experiences include:


Commercial Litigation - regularly appearing in Courts across NSW, the Federal Circuit Court, Federal Court of Australia and the ACT involving a wide range of commercial litigation for: plaintiffs/ claimants, defendants/ respondents, cross-claimants, cross-defendants; third parties and applicants.


Commercial and Business Law - drafting and negotiating commercial and business law contracts including: PPSA deeds, loan agreements, facility agreements, guarantees, sale of business contracts, share sale deeds, franchising agreements, distributor agreements, intellectual property agreements, shareholder agreements, property joint ventures, sub-originator (financial products) agreements.


Employment Law - acting for employers and employees on employment matters including: redundancies, unfair dismissal, employee entitlements, adverse action, Awards, Enterprise Agreements; and appearing in the Fair Work Commission, Federal Circuit Court and Federal Court.


Bankruptcy & Insolvency - acting for and advising Bankruptcy Trustees, Liquidators, Administrators, bankrupts, creditors, debtors and directors/related parties regarding a wide range of insolvency administrations including: bankruptcy notices; creditors petitions; statutory demands; applications to set aside statutory demands; originating processes; voluntary and creditors voluntary liquidations; creditors meetings; examinations; summons for production; unfair preferences; voidable transactions; PPSA disputes; trusts and tracing; insolvent trading; directors and breach of director's duties; trustee, administrator and liquidator sales; alternatives to formal arrangements including: voluntary administrations, deed of company arrangements, personal insolvency agreements; annulments.


Property & Conveyancing - acting for purchasers and vendors in relation to the sale of residential and commercial property; construction and development contract advice; title transfers; advising on loan and mortgage documents including guarantor advice; co-ownership agreements; joint venture projects; commercial and retail leasing contracts, assignments, variations, disputes and enforcement; options and conditional contracts; advice as to structuring of entities; caveats and urgent applications; taxation issues regarding stamp duty and GST; planning issues including development applications and complying development certificates; subdivisions and partitions.





Tamara Scholl

Tamara Scholl joined Gavin Parsons and Associates as a Paralegal in April 2017. She completed a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws / Diploma of Legal Practice, graduating with Honours at the University of Newcastle in 2016. Tamara was admitted as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of New South Wales in May 2017.


Prior to joining us, Tamara gained exposure to both private practice and community centre legal work working with a diverse range of clients covering a broad range of legal matters.


Since joining our team, Tamara has primarily focussed on property and conveyancing matters and impressed clients and colleagues alike with her knowledge and competence with litigious disputes in the Supreme Courts of New South Wales and Queensland and in the Federal Courts of Australia.


Tamara's experiences include:


Property law - acting for both purchasers and vendors in relation to the sale of residential property, preparing reviewing and advising clients regarding contracts for the sale of land and negotiating on behalf of the purchaser to achieve favourable special conditions


Commercial Law - drafting a range of commercial contracts, including privacy policies and deeds of settlement and release, assisting in the sale of businesses, preparing for property settlements, drafting cease and desist letters


Commercial Litigation - preparation of Court documents including Affidavits, Statements of Claim and Defences, appearances before the Local and Supreme Court of NSW and the Federal Circuit Court of Australia


Bankruptcy and Insolvency - assisting in the voluntary wind up of companies, preparing statutory demands, advising on the annulment of bankruptcy
